CarbonCar is a SaaS solution that, using data from expert reports, quantifies the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions generated throughout the management of an automotive claim, based on a comprehensive "cradle-to-grave" Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

Designed for insurers, it transforms this data into a powerful management tool: enabling performance monitoring of repairers and experts, controlling average cost and emissions through repair and reuse parts (PRE), and ensuring compliance with your non-financial reporting obligations under CSRD (material Scope 3 emissions).

The most carbon-intensive aspect of your footprint.
When measured per euro, claims management has a carbon intensity approximately 3 times higher than that of investments. Precise measurement and data management make all the difference here.

Our proprietary database offers a uniquely precise parts nomenclature (weight, dimensions, materials, and additives):
800,000+ parts referenced
≈ 2,000 per vehicle
270+ materials
45+ international brands
430+ models sold on the European market
≈ 80% of the French market covered

For the remaining 20%, a machine learning algorithm extrapolates data based on vehicle weight and the most common materials. Additionally, an automatic recognition tool matches part labels from your database with ours.

Consensus climate data sources: ADEME's Base Empreinte® (a merger of Base Carbone® and Base IMPACTS®), Ecoinvent, French energy mix, opendatasoft, and the European Environment Agency, with LCA implementation in collaboration with our partner laboratory.

A comprehensive, cradle-to-grave scope

CarbonCar covers all emission categories for a project, across all four scopes (including Scope 4 for avoided emissions):

The entire system is based on international standards (GHG Protocol, PEF method with CO₂ equivalent and 15 other impact indicators; avoided emissions according to the Net Zero Initiative).

Your Management Indicators

A consolidated dashboard continuously displays the key indicators:
Total CO₂e emissions and average emission per case
Total avoided emissions, detailed between repairs and reused parts (PRE)
Circularity rate and parts identification rate
Number of cases processed
Detailed impact breakdown by category

Four Areas of Value for Insurers

Check Mark

Network Performance Management

CO₂e becomes a monitoring indicator for your service providers: experts, repairers, and ELV centers. Compare emissions and average gains by repairer, group, brand, or region, track the percentage of reused and repaired parts, and direct your volumes towards the best-performing players.

Decline

Reduction of Claims Burden

By promoting the circular economy (reused parts) and remote expertise, CarbonCar directly links environmental performance with average cost control.

Data Engagement

Clear and presentable case documentation, from issuance to display for the policyholder: a lever for transparency and engagement.

Euro

Non-financial reporting

Reliable, traceable, and auditable Scope 3 data for your CSRD obligations and monitoring your decarbonization pathways.

Security and Trust

The software suite underwent two penetration tests in 2025 by Advens, a European cybersecurity leader, and has a roadmap aligned with ANSSI's hygiene guide. Identified vulnerabilities have been fully corrected. ISO 27001 certification is planned for the end of 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Why measure emissions from claims management?

Because it's a significant Scope 3 item for insurers, with high carbon intensity and long overlooked. Measuring it allows for management, reduction, and compliance with non-financial reporting obligations.

Do you offer solutions for corporate fleets?

Yes. We assess the emissions of an entire fleet, identify reduction opportunities, and support transition strategies towards lower-emission vehicles.

How do you ensure the accuracy of calculations?

Rigorous methodologies based on reference data (ADEME, Ecoinvent) and international standards (GHG Protocol). A dedicated team ensures continuous regulatory and technological monitoring, and calculations are regularly verified.
